The process of implantation of the egg in the uterus is a relatively complicated and complex matter. Implantation of the egg in the uterus is very important, because only if implantation occurs can the fertilization of a woman's egg by a man's sperm be considered the beginning of pregnancy. This process has its rules.

Many parents-to-be believe that the moment they have unprotected sex, all they have to do is wait for the woman's dominant egg to meet the man's fastest and most dominant sperm. And that means the beginning of pregnancy. However, it is not true that a woman is really pregnant and confirmed by a pregnancy test or a doctor's examination, the fertilized egg still has to travel to the uterus, where it must successfully implant.

After the egg and sperm fuse, a cell - zygote - is formed, which travels through the fallopian tubes to the uterus. During migration, the cell divides several times. After the first division, the so-called morula (blastomere), which contains 8 cells and retains 23 maternal chromosomes and 23 paternal chromosomes. By the next division, the egg already contains 16 cells, during migration, the trophoblast is separated (it subsequently forms the placenta) and a nucleus - blastula - is gradually formed in the egg. At this stage, the egg attaches to the uterus and turns into a blastocyst, which divides into an outer and an inner part. The blastocyst fuses with the uterus. This process takes about 7 days before the egg begins to nestle stably. The nidation process takes place.

At this stage, it is still questionable whether the egg will implant stably. If the hCG hormone begins to be produced, it is clear that the fertilized egg has successfully implanted in the uterus. The entire process of egg nesting, including migration and nidation, takes approximately 13-14 days. During nesting, pain in the lower abdomen or light bleeding lasting 1 to 2 days may appear.
