If you are trying to get pregnant, the most important thing is that both partners are healthy and the intercourse is properly timed. Therefore, try to conceive a child during your fertile days. It is about the so-called ovulation, which is a phase of a regular 28-day menstrual cycle. Fertile days - ovulation begins around the 12th-14th day of the menstrual cycle. Fertile days are considered to be the period 4 days before the peak of ovulation and 4 days after, other sources say 3 days before the peak of the ovulation cycle and 1 day after. During ovulation, there is the greatest probability that a mature egg of a woman can be successfully fertilized by a man's sperm. A man's sperm are able to survive 48 to 72 hours after release, so pregnancy is possible even if intercourse took place in another phase of the menstrual cycle. Some sources say that sperm can survive in a woman's body for up to 7 days. There have also been cases of women becoming pregnant at a different stage of the period.

Increased frequency of unprotected intercourse does not automatically mean an increased chance of pregnancy. However, if a certain time interval is observed, regularity in sex can have a certain effect. It is definitely not the case that having sex every day or every other day will increase the chances of fertilization. The amount of sperm in the ejaculate is replenished relatively quickly even after orgasm, but according to scientists, it is much more effective to keep a distance of 4 to 5 days before the next fertilization attempt. This is because the sperm have time to mature better and there is a higher chance that more potentially successful dominant sperm will be found in larger quantities, while the strongest and fastest will win. Sperm reach their best mobility when ejaculating every 3 to 4 days. So having intercourse 2-3 times during the period of fertile days is much more effective than trying every single day.

Definitely don't make a calendar or a diary out of your sex life. Passion is also necessary for a successful conception, and sex should be fun for both partners. When trying to get pregnant, don't become a slave to the ovulation cycle and try when you really want to, psychology plays an important role in this, especially for women. Even if you know that you have fertile days, think mainly about your and your partner's satisfaction, and the spontaneous birth of a child is the most beautiful bonus.
