Will it be a boy or a girl? If you like surprises and want to not know until the last moment whether you are growing a girl or a boy, you will not need any methods or methods to determine the gender of the baby. However, if you are still curious and impatient, we have some recommendations for you. The sex of the baby is decided as soon as the male sperm and the female egg meet during fertilization.

The simplest way, which guarantees the correct determination of the baby's gender, is a professional ultrasound examination. The reliability of the ultrasound examination is up to 99%. The gynecologist can identify the sex of the child around the 16th to 20th week, but it also depends on the turning of the baby. In some cases, it is possible even earlier (12th week), based on the angle of the fetus and the direction of the genital tubercle.

From a blood test, it is possible to find out the baby's gender around the 12th week. Phenetal analysis of the mother's blood DNA is used for this. However, there is usually a fee for this blood test to determine the sex of the baby. It is also possible to determine the gender of the baby by aminocentesis, which is the sampling of amniotic fluid. This process is also used to detect the possible occurrence of genetic diseases. Aminocentesis can be performed from the 11th week, but it is recommended to wait at least until the 12th-15th week of pregnancy. In some cases, you will have to wait between 2 and 4 weeks for the results.

There are also tests to determine the gender of the baby from morning urine. It is a test that a woman can perform in the comfort of her home. You will know the result in a few minutes. The reliability of such home tests is around 70 to 90% and sometimes it is quite difficult to read the result. The result of such tests is therefore not a guarantee of reliability, even if you do them repeatedly. There are also certain characteristics related to the course of pregnancy with boys and girls, the heartbeat of the baby and its behavior in the womb. The course of pregnancy is so individual for women that even such factors are not a guarantee of correct gender determination. Rather, it is the so-called "grandmother's methods".
