How to sleep during pregnancy?

The causes are often related to hormonal and biological changes that take place in a woman's body. Common factors for changes in sleeping habits are nausea, frequent urination, breast tenderness, increased heart rate, higher basal temperature, feeling of discomfort in the abdomen, heartburn, digestive changes, bloating, leg and back pain, or other pregnancy-related factors.
The usual sleeping positions during pregnancy can be very helpful for pregnant women. However, it is quite possible that if you have had your favorite sleeping position until now, you will have to get used to a new one. A typical and most recommended position is, for example, sleeping on the left side, which is also the so-called resting position. Some mothers-to-be will be helped by a pillow to support their tummy in a lateral position. It is also advisable to slightly bend the legs. Lying on the back or stomach is not suitable during pregnancy and may cause further complications.
For quality sleep, it is also necessary to take care of the right lifestyle, have a quality mattress and try to ensure regular sleep. Inappropriate eating during pregnancy can cause stomach problems. Also, the absence of nutrients and the lack of a drinking regimen can cause a hardening of the abdomen or other phenomena that can be responsible for the impaired quality of sleep.
