The story of every pregnant woman is different from conception to delivery. It is therefore not possible to say in general what the pregnancy is like, how intense the symptoms are and how painful the birth is. As for the due date, it is determined on the basis of the first day of the last period. The estimated date of birth is calculated from this date. Pregnancy is not counted during the first two weeks. The appointment is set by the gynecologist, ideally on the basis of an ultrasound or sonographic examination. A physiological birth is considered to be one between the 38th and 42nd gestational weeks of pregnancy. The appointment can be adjusted during the first check-ups with the gynecologist. Even if a woman knows the date of fertilization and has a regular menstrual cycle, it is not possible to determine the exact day - the date of birth, and a deviation of about 14 days is calculated.

In Slovakia, statistically, every 9th child is born prematurely. This does not mean that before the end of the 37th gestational week of pregnancy, it is a premature birth. A full-term baby is considered one when the pregnancy reaches the 40th gestational week and lasts 280 days. If the pregnancy lasts longer than 42 weeks, it is considered to be carrying - post-term pregnancy. Despite the fact that the birth phase is statistically longer for first-time mothers, the exceptions prove the rule. Therefore, this statement cannot be generalized. In which week first-time mothers give birth, it is also impossible to determine exactly.

Based on the experiences of women from discussion forums, several report that they gave birth approximately 2 weeks before the expected date. Other first-time mothers gave birth only 3 to 5 days before the expected due date. There are also those whose birth was a surprise in the unfinished 38th week. Other first-time mothers, on the other hand, carried over by a few days. These findings also clearly show that every pregnancy is different, even in the case of first-time mothers. The most important thing is that the birth goes well for the pregnant woman and the baby.
