What Shampoo for Cradle Cap?
Cradle Cap or seborrheic dermatitis (seborrhoea) is a non-infectious skin disease that is typical especially for infants. Cradle cap in older children is no exception, it occurs in them during puberty or even in preschool age. It appears mainly on the face and head, cradle cap often appears in the hair. This skin disease is not painful. However, neglect can cause an overgrowth of yeast, which can cause inflammation and subsequent infection. Cradle cap is characterized by white to yellow-white scales that peel off. The affected area is also characterized by increased sebum production.
It is necessary to take care of the affected skin. It is possible to use, for example, almond or olive oil, but for babies it is rather recommended to use baby oil, for example Aviril oil, which you rub on the affected area and let it work. Scabs are softer and easier to remove after the effects of oils. Never remove scabs and scales by force, as this can cause irritation and infection.
In practice, creams and shampoos for cradle cap (seborrhea) have proven themselves very well in children. For example, Babé Cradle Cap shampoo or the washing emulsion and body balm CutisHelp Mimi are well-known. Shampoos for cradle cap in infants have a keratolytic effect and not only soothe the skin, but also moisturize it. For babies, apply the shampoo in circular motions to the affected area. If a special shampoo is not available, use, for example, the classic HiPP Baby shampoo. After bathing, it is also advisable to apply a special cream for milky scab - Nosko Cradle Cap Cream. Scabs in your hair should be washed at least three to four times a week. You can use a thick baby hairbrush or a soft cotton towel to brush out the remaining scales.
